Supermarket Belongs to the Community

Supermarket belongs to the community. While Chef has the responsibility to keep it running and be stewards of its functionality, what it does and how it works is driven by the community. The chef/supermarket repository will continue to be where development of the Supermarket application takes place. Come be part of shaping the direction of Supermarket by opening issues and pull requests or by joining us on the Chef Mailing List.

Description

This cookbook installs and builds an iPXE boot image from source so it may have iPXE scripts embedded. The Ubuntu iPXE package only contains static roms, other distros may have more useful packages. This iPXE boot image may be used to boot from an image at a URL, from a SAN or from a self-created VLAN for example.

The iPXE cookbook may be used in conjunction with the pxe_dust cookbook to chainload iPXE from PXE.

Requirements

The metadata.rb requires the build-essential and git cookbooks so there is a working build tool chain.

Recipes

install

Installs the required dependencies and checks out the iPXE source from http://git.ipxe.org/ipxe.git.

chainload

Embeds a iPXE script into a chainloadable PXE image.
