Supermarket Belongs to the Community

Supermarket belongs to the community. While Chef has the responsibility to keep it running and be stewards of its functionality, what it does and how it works is driven by the community. The chef/supermarket repository will continue to be where development of the Supermarket application takes place. Come be part of shaping the direction of Supermarket by opening issues and pull requests or by joining us on the Chef Mailing List.

roles-cookbook

This is a blank cookbook with an empty default recipe.

If this cookbook finds its way on to your Chef Server, or any of your nodes, you should remove it from your run lists.

Why?

An obscure bug may result in Chef users unknowingly adding a cookbook called "roles" to their run lists. To guard against the possibility of an exploit, I am uploading this cookbook to the community marketplace so that anyone who carelessly or through automation retrieves this cookbook will not thereby fall victim to a bad actor uploading a malicious cookbook with the name "roles".

Supported Platforms

Inclusion of this cookbook on any platform supported by chef-client is harmless at best; at worst, it's a waste of bandwidth. The author does not recommend the use of this cookbook on any platform under any circumstances.
